Outdoor Living With Bespoke Oak Gazebos

At Timberpride, your gazebo is designed just for you. You’re not limited to an oak framed gazebo kit or set designs—instead, we work with you to create a bespoke design and raise the frame by hand with British oak posts.

Whether it’s an L-shape to make the most of a corner, a double-link for hosting gatherings, or a custom design, the choice is yours. Not sure where to start? Our experienced team will guide you, offering expert advice on the best shapes and styles, from medieval-inspired designs to modern finishes.

Oak Gazebo Roofing Options

We offer a range of bespoke roofing options whether it’s a rounded design, a classic rectangular roof, a unique octagonal style, or something else entirely.

Once we have built the Oak structural, we need to install the roof build-up. The Oak roof trusses provide essential support, ensuring strength and durability. The common rafters span from the ridge to the eaves, usually spaced about 400mm apart, forming the framework to carry the sarking boards. Fitting Oak TG&V sarking boards on top of the common rafters completes the structure ready for tiles, but it also looks absolutely spectacular.

Planning Permission For a Gazebo

Like many oak outbuildings, including oak garden rooms, gazebos often fall under permitted development rights, meaning planning permission isn’t always required. If your property is listed, located in a conservation area, or has certain design features, planning permission may be necessary.

If that’s the case, we’re here to help. We’ll guide you through the planning process, working with trusted planning consultants. We can also help to ensure your project meets all building regulations, collaborating with structural engineers to handle the technical details.

Why Choose a Gazebo from Timberpride?

Oak gazebos from Timberpride offer you:

  • Handcrafted Quality: Our skilled artisans use traditional techniques to create square joints and truly rectangular gazebos, providing greater strength and durability than machine-made round joints.
  • Sustainably Sourced Oak: All our timber comes from British forests, reducing transport distances and avoiding overseas delays while supporting sustainable practices and preventing importing bio security threats.
  • Highest Grading Standards: Every frame is made from hand-selected timber graded to D30 or D40 BS5756 standards, with D40 being the highest strength grade available for European oak in the UK.
  • Certified Excellence: Our gazebos meet UKCA Marking, Q Mark, and Visual Strength Grading for Hardwoods, which means you can be assured of our compliance and top quality craftsmanship.

How Much Do Oak Gazebos Cost?

When it comes to pricing a solid oak gazebo, there are a few things to think about. The overall size and shape are important—larger or more complex designs will naturally be more expensive. Roofing choices and any extras such as decorative details or bespoke features, also come into play.

If the area where the gazebo will be built needs significant groundwork, or if your design has unique elements, that can also have an impact. We’ll guide you through how each of these elements affects the price and how to choose the most cost effective option for your budget.

Do Oak Gazebos Need Maintenance?

Oak is naturally durable and holds up well against the weather, so an oak gazebo doesn’t need much maintenance. Over time, the oak will develop a silver-grey tone, which we love.

We recommend oiling the external beams with raw linseed oil every year or so. This gives the wood an extra layer of protection and helps keep insects like wasps from chewing on it.

We also offer a variety of other oak framed outbuildings, including oak framed pool houses and oak garages complete with external staircases for a room above.

The most sturdy gazebo is an oak gazebo. Oak is a naturally durable material that can last for hundreds of years. Its dense, heavy timber ensures the structure stays firmly in place—that means no more checking that your gazebo is still there on windy days!

An oak gazebo can last hundreds of years with proper care. It’s naturally durable and weather-resistant, making it an excellent choice for amplifying an outdoor space. Periodic maintenance, such as applying a layer of raw linseed oil once a year, can help protect it from the elements and preserve its longevity.

An oak garage, when built properly, can last for hundreds of years. Oak’s natural strength and resilience make it an ideal material for structures that stand the test of time.

Oak gazebos are the best for windy conditions due to their weight and strong construction. The dense, heavy timber provides excellent stability, especially when combined with hand-crafted techniques for the joinery.
